- My Name is Yon Yonson, I Work in Wisonsin

I'd completely forgotten about this for the best part of 20 years and have no idea why it popped back into my mind. This is just fantastic, if you've never heard it before you're in for a real treat:

Fond memories of the Summer of 1987, staying in my Aunt's house, and Peel playing it a few times. I tried to find this song last year to no avail - thanks for the tip off - great to hear it again.

Glad you enjoyed it. It took some finding, mainly because of the spelling.

Damnation, I just posted on this topic and blogger gave me an error and I can't recover it. Never mind, let's try again...

What I said was, I don't remember the song, but I do remember the "Yon Yonson" poem from reading Kurt Vonnegut's Slaughterhouse 5 when I were a young lad. So I could've helped you with those spelling difficulties by checking my bookshelf.

Interestingly(-ish), the catchphrase repeated throughout Slaughterhouse 5 was "So it goes". Which leads us back to doe...

Thanks for dropping by DP, hope all is well at your end. I was also aware of the Kurt Vonnegut Slaughterhouse 5 connection but that didn2t help me!

Who was John Peel?
