Fuck me- I never knew The Fall played on Later! Obviously he fired that band shortly afterwards as I saw him with a new crew later that summer...and they were brilliant of course.

In fact Mark did fire the band shortly afterwards, when they were on tour in the US - although he kept his lovely lady wife and her Korg MS20. I can't remember if it was because he was upset that the band had lost the stage backdrop, or because the drummer tried to beat him up, or because they were dressing in a sloppy manner, ot perhaps he just had one of his moods.
