- Yazoo in 'better than Erasure' shocker: 1982 session

Did you know that Yazoo were known as Yaz in the States? Do you care?

For a picture of them in their full early 80s TOTP glory, click here.

Living in Istanbul can be quite an experience, let me tell you. Although there are an estimated 15 million people in the city, there's not a single copy of Ken Garner's book, so somebody please fill in the gaps with the relevant info on this 1981 session. Here's Vince Clarke in post Dep Mode pre Erasure guise, with the lovely voice of Alison Moyet:

- Unsatisfactory Euro Result: 8th April, 1981

I’m continuing my slow and unsteady slowing down of that fabulous batch of early 80s shows that surfaced over on JP Everyday a while back. This time it’s the 8th April, 1981 show. The name of the file had thus far led me to believe that this might have been from May, but a bit of checking based on results for the 1981 European Cup semi final show that this is definitely from April. Peel bemoans the poor Euro result near the start of the program, referring to the 0-0 home draw with Bayern in the first leg of the semi final. The reds did go on, however, to draw 1-1 in the away leg and then trounce Real Madrid 1-0 in the final. I feel a youtube moment coming on…

- Siouxsie (finally): 20th October, 2004

After the recently made available Robert Smith and Underworld shows, I've finally gotten around to uploading the Siouxsie show to complete the triumvirate (don't get to use that word very often). Can someone please count how many times she uses the word 'amazing', I've lost count whenever I've tried.
